Zombie movies have long been a guilty pleasure of mine and being a part of one was a dream come true. I had the privilege of modeling several iterations of the zombie character including a special blend-shape that allowed our rigger to dial in all the asymmetrical characteristics (since it's much easier to rig a character that's initially symmetrical).
I also modeled airplane wreckage, smoldering scrap piles, crowbars, and countless other props. But the toughest model might have been the runway. No displacement maps here, just days on end of hand modeled cracks in one seamless geo. As dictated by our pipeline all models were attached to a sub-d node meaning every sharp cleft needed three parallel edges. Fun fun fun
